I'm an academic researcher focused on Philosophy, Ethics, Cosmology, and Astrobiology. Also writer and screenwriter specialized in science fiction, fantasy, and horror.
Born in 1971 in Bahia, Brazil. Brazilian, Italian and Portuguese citizen. For the last three years, I've been living between São Paulo (Brazil) and Venice (Italy) as a double PhD candidate funded by Erasmus Mundus scholarship. My doctoral research on transhumanism and human space expansion is supervised by Fabrizio Turoldo (Università Ca' Foscari di Venezia), and Renato Janine Ribeiro (Universidade de São Paulo). My thesis, "Skyward", is going to be discussed in August of 2019.
My MPhil was obtained in 2013 at Universidade de São Paulo. The dissertation, entitled From Sky to Genes – Epistemic Transitions, Cosmological Anomalies and their Ethical Concerns, can be downloaded for free (in Portuguese) from USP Digital Library. My bachelor degree is in Philosophy (2009).
For three years (2009-2011) I was also enrolled in Astrophysics programs, but my studies in this area were not completed within this period. I found quite difficult to turn my mind to a new bachelor's degree and to a MPhil at the same time, but even in such a context I enrolled myself in two summer schools in Spain organized by NASA Astrobiology Institute. In that occasion, I studied organic molecules in alien contexts as well as the theory on terraforming Mars. In the last three years, I've been turning to Bioethics, Environmental Ethics, and dilemmas regarding human cosmic expanse.
With regard to my professional experience, I've already
served as special adviser in the Ministry of Education in Brazil, as
well as consultant assistant in Ethics for the United Nations
Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). You can
